BioGrowing, a leading innovator in probiotic research and manufacturing, made a notable impact through its participation at The Food Tech Summit and Expo 2025 held October 8 to 9 at Centro Banamex, Mexico City, introducing its revolutionary AKK double strains to the Latin American market for the first time. The company’s showcase attracted significant attention from industry professionals and potential partners across the region.

During the exhibition, BioGrowing presented its two flagship probiotic strains–AKK WST01 live strain and AKKBG-001™ heat-killed strain. The AKK WST01 represents China’s first AKK strain validated by a Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) led by Shanghai Ruijin Hospital under the guidance of a Chinese academician. This research findings were published in top-tier journal Cell Metabolism. It was demonstrated to support blood glucose and weight management, with patents secured across 13 countries and regions.

AKKBG-001™ was produced by BioGrowing’s proprietary anaerobic fermentation and high-fidelity inactivation technology. Studies have shown that it can inhibit fat absorption, promote lipolysis, repair gastrointestinal mucosa, and alleviate intestinal inflammation. BioGrowing has achieved industrial-scale production of 300-billion TFU high-purity capsules, and will leverage the characteristics of postbiotics for various applications in the future.

The company also featured its heat-resistant Weizmannia Coagulans BC-G44 strain, which exhibits exceptional tolerance to high temperature, stomach acid, bile salt, and extended storage periods, demonstrating 86.05% survival after a 60-minute gastric simulation at pH 2.0 and thermal stability shown by maintaining 86.85% viability at 140°C/5-min, significantly outperforming conventional probiotics. Its safety and stability has been recognized by Self-GRAS certification and shows benefits in promoting gut health, boosting immunity and supporting athletic nutrition. This resilience enables incorporation into various products including baked goods, gummies, and functional beverages without compromising probiotic viability.

In the first day of the expo, Dr. Guo Peng, Chief Scientist at BioGrowing, delivered a keynote address titled “Beyond Digestive Health: The New Roadmap of Probiotic Action,” sharing the latest research findings and achievements. His presentation highlighted not only the new AKK strains’ strong clinic validated effect on digestive health, but also the company’s evidence-based strains including Lactiplantibacillus plantarum N1 for GLP-1 support, Lactobacillus gasseri LG-G12 for brown adipose tissue content increase, and Lactobacillus crispatus Lc-G22 for vaginal health improvement.

Those strains, solving precise health issues, have been introduced in Flora-Focus® series which BioGrowing showcased at the booth, offering targeted formulations across 9 main health domains, with special focus on gut health, immune function, female care, and oral health for the Latin American market. The company’s product demonstrations included OralBubble™ Probiotic Microbubble Lozenge, containing 10-billion CFU/strip with zero sugar, designed to address 8 oral health concerns at one-stop; and OralFlash™ Flash-Melt Probiotics utilizes tribiotic technology (Pre+Pro+Post) for improving digestive health and provides favored taste with seconds-fast dissolution.

With both AKK strains now in mass production, BioGrowing is positioned to supply functional ingredients and finished products throughout global. The company reaffirmed its commitment to advancing strain research and development, precision fermentation, and application technology, collaborating with partners worldwide to deliver effective, science-backed health solutions.
